Bring out the brooms! It’s a weekend sweep for the Terps!

Maryland Hockey had a big three days in the ACC Showcase as they faced George Washington, Virginia Tech, and Georgetown.

Friday night against the George Washington Colonials was a slow start. The Terps had trouble finding the scoresheet as they went into the third period trailing 2-0. As they continue to do this season, the team rallied for a four-goal period and defeated GW by a final score of 4-3.

Goals from Tucker Healy, Liam Eden, Daniel Tomashevky, and Hunter Airey, as well as a 42-save performance from Aidan Jones, allowed Maryland to get back in the win column.

Saturday posed a stronger threat against the Virginia Tech Hokies, but the Terrapins were up for the challenge once again. This time, with Henri Pelletier in net, Maryland overcame 1-0, 2-1, and 3-2 deficits. Tying the game late in the third, the team rolled into their first overtime of the year until Tomashevky fired home the double overtime winner.

Eden scored once and Beiganowski scored twice. The Tomashevsky goal sent the team home happy with an epic finish to a great game. Pelletier made 31 saves against the potent Hokie offense.

Pelletier got a nod again for Sunday’s affair against the Georgetown Hoyas. Maryland got on the scoresheet first and led most of the game. With all of the scoring production coming from the first line, the Terps ran away with it by a final score of 5-1.

Healy scored and his wingers Eden and Bieganowski both notched two goals a pair. The top line of 17-5-12 now has a combined 21 goals on the season.

Looking ahead, the Terrapins will have a rematch against the Rowan Profs on Sunday, November 21. Maryland will be home this time and it will be a 7:00 p.m. puck drop at Fort Dupont Ice Arena.
