Joe takes over as Head Coach for the 2018-2019 season and brings seven years of ACHA coaching experience. He served the last three years as an Assistant Coach for the Terps and helped guide the team to a regional semi-final in last year’s playoffs. Prior to joining Maryland, Joe served four years as an Assistant Coach for American University, leading the Eagles to back-to-back Mason Dixon League championships in 2011-2012 and 2012-2013. Joe holds a Level 4 USA Hockey coaching certification. He grew up playing hockey in Minnesota and played five seasons of ACHA hockey for the University of Minnesota and American University. When he’s not behind the bench, Joe works as an attorney for the federal government and he remains active in several adult hockey leagues in the Washington, DC area.
Will is joining the UMD staff for the 2019-20 season as a first year coach. After helping build and grow the University of Scranton Men’s D2 ACHA team from an independent non-conference team, to 3 time conference runner up (GNCHC, CSCHC), Will is moving behind the bench to being his coaching career. A native Long Islander, Will graduated from the University of Scranton in 2018 with a degree in Marketing, and currently works outside of Washington DC as an Account Manager at a global software firm. In his free time, you can probably find him somewhere on a golf course.
Clark is entering his first year of coaching after graduating from the University of Maryland in May of 2019 with a dual degree in Finance and Operations Management. He played hockey for the Terps for 3 years, and served as captain his senior year. Prior to his collegiate career, Clark grew up playing for the Bowie Bruins and captained his High School team to a Maryland State Hockey League Championship in 2014. Clark now works as a Financial Consultant for the Federal Government and laces the skates up for the ‘Goon Squad’ that plays in the Piney Orchard Adult League.
Brennen comes back for his fourth season with the University of Maryland and his first with the DII team. During the 2018 - 2019 season, Brennen served as the head coach of the DIII team and was an assistant from 2016 - 2018. Prior to joining Maryland, Brennen played collegiate hockey at Ithaca College, competing in the NECHL of ACHA's Division I. He is a born-and-raised Marylander who works as a Digital Marketing Analyst when he is not coaching.
